But still a nice job so far. I can't give you a list of favorite musicals I don't think I've even see 10 of them all together. Not a big fan of musicals I did watch Cop Rock back in 1990. Does that count?Cheeks DaBellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05960537418349697891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19669102.post-13021885612492347432011-04-13T05:29:03.455-04:002011-04-13T05:29:03.455-04:00My Top alpahabetical ten musicals are:

While the Burton film was something of an achievement (to cram in the 3+ hours into a 2 hour movie coherently), the music fell far short. I never got Sondheim either and, like Andrew Lloyd Webber, this is the one and only thing by him I like -- the rest you can have. The songs are extremely strong and memorable when Hearn and Lansbury do it; they disappear when Depp and Bonham Carter attempt to sing them.

This is absolutely and eccentric list because I chose my favourite and not the "best" musicals. Hence SINGIN' IN THE RAIN's absence et. al. There were also many more Iwanted to include but had to limit myself to only ten: Disney's THE JUNGLE BOOK, THE HAPPINESS OF THE KATAKURIS, THE BLUES BROTHERS, AMADEUS (technically a musical, if you think about it), THE BROADWAY MELODY OF 1940, SUMMER STOCK, TILL THE CLOUDS ROLL BY, THE THREE CABALLEROS and countless others.Cerptshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07788317865445255338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19669102.post-14064678856201407522011-04-13T03:22:24.498-04:002011-04-13T03:22:24.498-04:00I like that you call me your God friend rather tha...I like that you call me your God friend rather than Good. I thank you for posting your musical list - although I find some of the choices eccentric (although I expect nothing less). As for SWEENEY TODD....I love the film but I've never really got Sondheim. Two minutes after watching the film all I could remember were the visuals - not one single tune.Weavermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09833233577048591427noreply@blogger.com
