THE EITHER/OR QUIZ: You've seen it before but take the quiz that's written by someone who loves you. Me. Here's the drill: Each line will have two things listed with the word "or" between them. It is your job to choose which of the two you prefer/like best. You have to answer every question; even if you despise both choices, just choose the one you despise LEAST. If you absolutely have no idea what either thing is, you get a pass. As always, you can leave your answers as a comment and teacher will grade you. My answers can be found in the comments as well. Have fun. Okey dokey artichokey, here we goesey:
1. Boxers or briefs? 2. Bert or Ernie? 3. Laverne or Shirley? 4. The Beatles or The Rolling Stones 5. Frankenstein or Dracula (the books) 6. Frankenstein or Dracula (The 1931 movies) 7. The Godfather Part I or The Godfather Part 2 8. Star Trek or Star Wars? 9. Alton Brown or Rachel Ray? 10. The Sex Pistols or The Clash? 11. Twister or Independence Day (the movies) 12. Bela Lugosi or Boris Karloff? 13. Superman or Batman? 14. The Flintstones or Scooby-Doo? 15. Ella Fitzgerald or Sarah Vaughan? 16. Bath or Shower? 17. Day or Night? 18. Dogs or Cats? 19. Marvel Comics or DC Comics? 20. Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly? 21. The Fantastic Four or The X-Men? 22. The Brady Bunch or The Partridge Family? 23. Spring or Fall? 24. Elmo or Grover? 25. Britney Spears or a kick to the head? 26. Elton John or Billy Joel? 27. Chocolate or Vanilla? 28. Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin? 29. Coke or Pepsi? 30. Cake or Pie? 31. Pen or Pencil? 32. Ralph Waldo Emerson or Henry David Thoreau? 33. Monsters Inc. or Finding Nemo? 34. Baseball or Football? 35. Coffee or Tea? 36. Potato Chips or Pretzels? 37. Pirate or Viking? 38. Gone With the Wind or Casablanca? 39. Little Richard or Chuck Berry? 40. Humphrey Bogart in The Maltese Falcon or Humphrey Bogart in The African Queen?

7 comments:

  1. 1. Boxers
    2. Ernie ... although you'd think I'd gravitate more to a grouch like Bert.
    3. Shirley
    4. The Beatles
    5. Frankenstein the book by Mary Shelley is a MUCH better read than the clunky Dracula by Bram Stoker.
    6. Frankenstein (1931) starring Boris Karloff is a MUCH better film than the creaky & stagey (but still good) Lugosi Dracula film.
    7. The Godfather Part I -- both are classics but, well, the first film has Brando and Caan while the second flags a little during the Cuban scenes. Just a little, mind you.
    8. Star Trek -- although I am by no stretch of the imagination a Trekkie. As a kid, it would've been Star Wars but since Return of the Jedi is only an OK movie and the three "prequels" range from bad to godawful, I'll have to choose Star Trek since the original series is pure TV magic and the Next Generation was pretty good too (as were several of the movies). However, I'm not a HUGE fan of either franchise. So there.
    9. Alton Brown of course of course!
    10. The Clash -- Rest in peace, Joe!
    11. Twister -- both movies are craptucular fun but I watch Twister at least once or twice a year and ID4. . .not so much.
    12. Boris Karloff -- I love Bela but Boris will always be King.
    13. Batman -- although I'd rather HAVE Superman's powers but the Big Red S just ain't as cool as Bats.
    14. Scooby-Doo.
    15. Sarah Vaughan
    16. Shower
    17. Night -- as I said on Paxy's blog, there's NO excuse for sunlight!
    18. Dogs -- Cats are Jerks (just watch Robot Chicken and see why)
    19. DC Comics -- I absolutely LOVE both but my heart lies in the DC Universe.
    20. Fred Astaire.
    21. The Fantastic Four - sorry, never got into the X-Men. It's Stan Lee & Jack Kirby's FF which makes my heart go pitter pat!
    22. The Brady Bunch.
    23. Autumn -- Yay, everything's dying!
    24. Grover -- no contest! Elmo is just a Johnny-Come-Lately, weak Grover wannabe. And that's the truth. So, tickle THIS, Elmo! (Obviously I have deep-seated issues on this topic).
    25. Britney Spears or a kick to the head? OK, maybe this one's not fair. We all know that people don't like pain. Cause pain hurts. So there could only be one REALLY truthful answer to this question. I'll take the kick to the head. Hurts less.
    26. Elton John -- Reg Rules! Altho lately not so much. But, of course, I celebrate his entire catalogue.
    27. Chocolate baby! Unless of course we're talking ice cream where, perversely, I don't like chocolate ice cream very much at all. Go fig.
    28. Dean Martin baby!
    29. Coke I suppose but I really don't like either. I'm a Pepper!
    30. Pie. I'm a guy. Studies show the vast majority of men prefer pies while the majority of women prefer cakes. Let's see if this quiz bears that out.
    31. Pen. I hate pencils. They're too messy. And since you always had to do math with pencils in school, they have been tainted with evil numbers. Die, pencil, die!
    32. Henry David Thoreau. I just want to point out that this comparison (along with several others) was provided by Fink and I just wanna know what day he picked to pay attention in school to come up with THIS one?!?!?!
    33. Finding Nemo
    34. Football -- as I've said ad nauseum: Baseball is as exciting as watching farming. Only slower.
    35. Coffee -- in the past it would've been tea but I've been drinking more coffee lately.
    36. Potato Chips.
    37. Pirate. Vikings suck because they set back the modern world several hundred years by destroying every civilization they could whereas pirates merely stole some gold.
    38. Casablanca. Gone With the Wind be crap. Hate to break it to ya.
    39. Little Richard -- he's the originator, the instigator, the architect of rock and roll.
    40. Humphrey Bogart in The Maltese Falcon -- shocking since African Queen is a Kate Hepburn movie and Humph won a best actor Oscar for it. But you can't beat Bogie as hard-boiled detective Samuel Spade.

    1. Briefs. I’m a girl, boxers bunch.
    2. Ernie. But only because I love the way he says “Bert”
    3. Laverne
    4. The Rolling Stones
    5. Frankenstein. Dracula is a bit sprawling for my taste.
    6. Dracula. I preferred Bride of Frankenstein, movies-wise.
    7. The Godfather Part 2
    8. Star Wars.
    9. Alton Brown’s name is sullied due to it’s approximation to Racheal Ray, aka she who had to be paired with Batali to get walked through Iron Chef like a lazy gimp. Sidebar: isn’t she sick of her own face yet?
    10. The Clash. Ah, the hotness.
    11. Independence Day. It has Jeff Goldblum, Data, and Adam Baldwin. Yay!
    12. Boris Karloff
    13. Batman. As Chip often said, he was the coolest because he didn’t have superpowers. Just gads of money. Which could be a superpower.
    14. The Flintstones. They annoy me less.
    15. Ella Fitzgerald
    16. Shower.
    17. Day
    18. Cats
    19. DC
    20. Gene Kelly
    21. The X-Men
    22. The Brady Bunch. I should request a pass for this one, because I don’t give two sh*ts about either of them.
    23. Fall smells better
    24. Grover. Elmo can take a long walk off a short pier, if you know what I’m saying. Little jerk would probably just float.
    25. A kick in the head. With steel toe boots from a freakishly strong rugby player.
    26. Billy Joel, but this was close.
    27. Vanilla
    28. Frank Sinatra
    29. Coke. Diet.
    30. Pie. Blueberry, please. Ooh! Or pecan!
    31. Pencil. More tactile writing experience.
    32. Ralph Waldo Emerson. Thoreau was a bit too pie in the sky for me. And I prefer my pies on my plate. See # 30.
    33. Finding Nemo. By default, ‘cause I’ve never seen Monsters Inc.
    34. Baseball
    35. Coffee
    36. Is this even a valid question? Chips. Hard pretzels are the bastard step-relations of croutons and crackers. Totally different league.
    37. Viking. They stand the test of time. Pirates are kinda trendy, warm weather only. Vikings are totally old world gangsta.
    38. I’ve never seen either. Somebody call DYFUS!
    39. Little Richard. Cause he was on Pee Wee.
    40. Humphrey Bogart in The African Queen – because I haven’t seen The Maltese Falcoln.

  3. Fink -- you doofus.

Miss Jenny Penny -- Alton Brown is certainly NOT sullied by his mere proximity to Ms. Ray. He can rise above it and remain unscathed. Just as a kick to the head can remain totally uncorrupted by it's proximity to Ms. Spears.

Also, I'm sure Elmo WOULD probably float . . . like the turd he is.

Pretzels the bastard step relations to croutons and crackers. Now THEY'RE sullied since I actually would prefer croutons and crackers to pretzels.
Of course, I'm talking fresh croutons I made myself -- Ooo, with olive oil. . .and maybe some garlic.
