Uh. . .I'm working my way up to this one. I don't know how to approach writing about this one so be patient. I'll get there because I frankly love this movie and it's become one of my top top favourites. Or else the film will beat me and I won't be able to coherently write about it the way I want to write about it. Suffice it to say that I've watched the movie 8 times (twice with commentary track) in the last 2 weeks. So hopefully I'm almost there. Watch this space. . .

So what. . .have you seen any of these Antonionios??? Or are you just bated?

Actually, I've already completed writing the blog entry for the first one L'AVVENTURA -- it only awaits my screen capturing some delicious photos to accompany it and it will be posted toot sweet.

  3. No i didn't see any of them I just know there were three of them. Actually from what I understand, they are a trilogy but they can all stand by themselves very well also. That's why I'm waiting for your review, ya sill.

  4. Yes indeed they are considered a trilogy although they all have separate, unrelated stories and all the characters are different in each movie (even though some actors -- like Antonioni's muse Monica Vitti -- appear in all three). They're more of a trilogy in theme.

  5. Actually some people consider them a "tetralogy" by adding a fourth film: Antonioni's next (and first colour) film "Il Deserto Rosso" (Red Desert) in which Monica Vitti stars once again but this time as a neurotic.

  6. Um. . .OK I've just watched ECLIPSE again. That makes 9 times in two weeks. Somebody call a doctor. . .

  7. Okay, I caled a doctor. Told him your situation and he said it was okay to see it 9 times but 10 times would be stupid. Of course that was 10 times in two weeks. Just wait a couple days and you will be in the clear.

  8. Thank goodness! But I actually have a pile of DVDs amassing that I have to get thru so maybe I'll be able to give ECLIPSE a rest for a while. Of course, that won't work if I have to watch it AGAIN to write about it!!!!
