VERY VERY VERY SAD TO HEAR OF PAUL NEWMAN'S DEATH AT AGE 83. One of the last true titans of the silver screen. His impressive film career goes without saying but here are a few of the movies and performances of which I am particularly fond:
- The Long Hot Summer (1958)
- The Left Handed Gun (1958)
- Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958)
- The Hustler (1961)
- Hud (1963)
- What A Way To Go! (1964)
- Torn Curtain (1966)
- The Towering Inferno (1974)
- Slap Shot (1977)
- The Verdict (1982)
- Nobody's Fool (1994)
- Message in a Bottle (1999)
Sad indeed, yet he lived a good full life and showed us all that he could still be who he was will into his 70's and 80's.
ReplyDeleteRIP, you blue eyed devil.
Harper was pretty good too. The script's by William Goldman and he writes a fair bit about it in "Adventures in the Screen Trade". Great cast too, Lauren Bacall, Julie Harris, Robert Wagner, Robert Webber, Strother Martin, Pamela Tiffin...
