LEE-A-THON MOVIE OF THE DAY NO. 1

THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN!  

Ground zero as far as the birth of a horror icon goes.  Hammer takes gothic horror into blood-drenched colour.  Hammer starts as they mean to continue.  Cleavage.  Blood blood blood.  Severed body parts.  Crackling electrical appliances.  Cushing's the doc.  Lee's his creature.  Urquhart's the bewildered assistant.  Court's romantic aspirations are worrisome. Oh no, look out for that bannister!  Lee's creature rips the bandages away from his face and gives us that eye!  Oh no, now he gets shot in that eye!  Scream!  Gushy blood!  Swirling orange leaves!  Dead white face and black black suit.  A maid can be trouble.  Oh, but not for long!  A sticky end for the creature and the Doc ends up in a bit of a pickle.  A sliced pickle.
