LEE-A-THON MOVIE OF THE DAY NO. 8

HORROR OF DRACULA!
Whereas CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN launched Hammer into the colour Gothic horror field, it was HORROR OF DRACULA that crystalised all that was best about Hammer Horror.  Christopher Lee as the towering Prince of Darkness and Peter Cushing as the intrepid Van Helsing.  Despite some claims, the film is not a faithful adaptation  of Bram Stoker's novel but it many ways it's arguably the most successful screen adaptation of Dracula ever made.  It's certainly the one I return to again and again.
