As I logged onto Geegle-Goo-Goo this afternoon, I saw this as one of their daily click-baits:
and I had to laugh. Yet another instance of an American culture (and probably most of the world by now) which constantly downgrades what they call "dreamers" in favour of the go-get-'em "doers". "Warren Buffett says 4 Choices in Life Separate the Doers from the Dreamers" which implies that, whatever you do, you don't wanna be one of those losers "dreamers"! God forbid! Unfortunately, one of these alpha-male "doers" isn't something this "dreamer" has ever striven to be. Here's a list of those who are definitely in the "doers" category: Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, the Rev. Jim Jones, Osama bin Laden, Richard Ramirez, Jeffrey Dahmer, Timothy McVeigh . . . . .boy, are THEY squarely in the "doers" category! It's the "doers" who caused just about 100% of the problems we face and have faced throughout history. Yet, I can't think of a single instance of bloodshed and destruction caused by Emily Dickenson or Vincent Van Gogh. These so-called "dreamers" are the thinkers and artists who give us what is called humanity and culture. Of course, these things are considered worthless in our anti-intellectual climate which, in America at least, has been the norm almost since it's inception. Of course, this doesn't stop the "doers" from taking ideas dreamt-up by the "dreamers" and twisting them to their own ends. It's not the religious thinkers who merely write down their ideas whom we have to fear; it's the dipshit "doers" who decide to take those ideas and twist them to their own ends i.e. dipshit "doer" Jim Jones in Jonestown or dipshit "doer" Osama bin Laden twisting and subverting Islamic teachings or dipshit "doer" Adolf Hitler taking some fringe writings in order to create an evil homicidal dictatorship. The smug look on Warren Buffett's face in the photo above is the same smug look you'll find on all "doers" who mistakenly believe they've contributed anything valuable to humanity. These people occasionally lie on their deathbeds and look back at their lives in despair as they realize that they've never really contributed anything good or meaningful to the world. Like a beautiful piece of music. Or a brilliantly-written novel. Or a moving film. Or a breathtaking work of art. Speaking for myself, I'm sick to death of these dipshit "doers"; we need a lot less of them.
He should just stick to singing about cheeseburgers in paradise!
