SEEIN' STARS BY FEG MURRAY

Fred Murray was an Olympic hurdler who won a bronze medal at the 1920 Olympic games.  Of course, no one in their right mind cares at the Olympics so Murray's REAL claim to fame around here is when he wrote and drew a daily "Ripley's Believe It Or Not"-type daily comic strip called "SEEIN' STARS" from 1933 to 1941 (which continued on Sundays only until 1951)!  Whereas Ripley's cartoons focused on the odd, Feg Murray focused on Hollywood and it's movie stars and the art here is every bit the equal of anything appearing in Ripley.  The celebrities almost always have extremely good likenesses and you can tell who they are without reading a word!  Here's a (rather lengthy) sampling of his wonderful columns which I wish were collected in book form.
