Daffy and delightful Ingrid Pitt came barreling out of the Hammer House of Horror to stake (!) her claim as the new horror queen of the early 1970s. She portrayed the title character in Hammer's adaptation of the groundbreaking horror novella "CARMILLA" by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu in THE VAMPIRE LOVERS; the first of Hammer's "Karnstein trilogy". She assayed the role of the historical "bloody countess" Elisabeth Bathory who bathed in the blood of virgins to keep eternally young in COUNTESS DRACULA. She suffered the nip of a veteran horror actor (Jon Pertwee) whose cursed antique cloak turned him into a real vampire in Amicus' THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD. She was one of those mischievous pagans on Summerisle in THE WICKER MAN. And she met Jon Pertwee again but this time as the Doctor in DOCTOR WHO: THE TIME MONSTER and later Peter Davison's Doctor in DOCTOR WHO: WARRIORS OF THE DEEP where she famously battled against the Myrka!
