EVERY NIGHT IS HALLOWEEN IN AUTUMNCROW.
Cameron Chaney is the host of the superb youtube channel "Library Macabre" which focuses on horror books galore. Happily, he has contributed to the world of horror literature himself with this superb book of short stories focusing on the fictional town of Autumncrow. Each one of the stories is separate and unique in itself but all (but one) take place in the spooky town of Autumncrow which has more than it's fair share of spooky goings-on and which people find themselves unable to leave most of the time. Here is a book that is tailor-made for Halloween, obviously. The atmosphere of fallen leaves, a chill in the air and a scary thing in the underbrush is gloriously palpable -- especially during the month of October here in the Countdown to Halloween.
No spoilers here -- only just to say that I really enjoyed every single story for the spookiness Chaney manages to conjure coupled with a very autumnal sense of loss and mourning which the season brings. I must say I rocketed through the book because it was such a pleasure to read -- a real page-turner - and I highly recommend it to anyone who craves the spookiness of the season. And even better news is that Chaney is about to release a new book beginning a series of (I believe) YA horror fiction entitled AUTUMNCROW HIGH which will evoke such cherished YA horror series as FEAR STREET and POINT TERROR etc. I'm definitely reading that one because Chaney has a really entertaining writing style and a deep love for horror and all things Halloween. Make sure to go visit him on youtube too, ghouls!

Sounds like a good read, especially for someone who has finished all the other Fear Street or other novels and is looking for something new.
Hey, nice to see you again, Caffeinated Joe! Yeah, AUTUMNCROW is a really great read. And I also highly recommend Cameron Chaney's youtube channel where he collections tons of horror books including YA stuff like FEAR STREET. Unfortunately, AUTUMNCROW HIGH won't be coming out in October as planned; he's hoping to get it finished and released in a month or two.
