Hectic time. And consequently this penguin has been a little spaced -- as you can see from the photo. I usually name the nominees post-Thanksgiving. You listen to much more new stuff than me so it is hard to comment and make much sense. However, Carolina Chocolate Drops deserve attention from what I've seen of them and it is good to see The Stones included and Pet Clark doing "Crazy" certainly tweeks my interest.
Did you just say "tweeks", you naughty boy. Oh . . . interest.
My parents recently saw one member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops (the one with the hat whose name temporarily escapes me) at the Tom Rush 50th concert which coincidentally also is nominated.
OH, and to be perfectly clear, I hope you don't think Petula's CRAZY is the Willie Nelson-written, Patsy Cline song but the Gnarls Barkley "new stuff". :)
I thought it was going to be a Patsy Cline cover and to be honest was disappointed it wasn't. Don't care for the Gnarls Barkley song. Like the Muse and Linkin Park stuff. The Heart cover of Stairway was stuff of legends watching Robert Plant tear up as he watched the Wilson girls do his song justice. Ahhh yes, good Old Green Eyes and I do mean "old"
