FOUR COLOR COMICS: SOME SPOOKY COVERS FOR HALLOWEEN

FOUR COLOR COMICS WAS A LONG-RUNNING SERIES EMERGING FROM DELL COMICS IN 1939 AND RUNNING UNTIL 1962.  It was sort of a "tryout" book in that each issue had an entirely different feature; Four Color published some of the first Disney character comics Uncle Walt allowed.  The series also ran countless issues of current movie or TV adaptations as well as many now-beloved strips from Marge's Little Lulu to Warner Bros. Looney Tunes characters and those of the Walter Lantz studios among many more.  The Four Color series ran over 1000 issues making it the longest-running (by issue count) American comic book series; the exact number of issues is a little hard to gauge as numbers were skipped routinely in the numerical order.  Be that as it may, Four Color is an historically important title and I thought a sample of some of my favourite "spooky" Four Color covers would make a nice Countdown to Halloween treat.  So here is a gallery of the most Halloweenie covers of Four Color Comics.  Enjoy!
