A little more than 10 years ago (September 20, 1997 to be exact), the U.S. Post Office issued a series of postage stamps honouring the classic Universal Monsters and the actors who portrayed them: Lon Chaney, Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff and Lon Chaney Jr. Through the tireless efforts of Sara Karloff, Bela Lugosi Jr. and Ron Chaney, as well as countless petition-signing horror fans like us, these terrific stamps became a reality. I just thought I'd take a moment on this tenth Halloween month since they were issued to remember this great tribute to some great men.

MONSTER STAMPS 10TH ANNIVERSARY.
