BATTY INDUCTEE NUMBER 12

WE'VE HIT THE BATTY'S DOZEN IN OUR HALL OF FAME WITH THIS NEXT SONG.  I first heard this song on one of my favourite Halloween compilation cd's "HALLOWEEN STOMP" released by Jass Records in 1990.  I immediately fell in love with it and it has become a Halloween perennial ever since.  The 12th inductee into my Batty Halloween Hall of Fame is . . .

MYSTERIOUS MOSE by HARRY RESER & THE RADIO ALL-STARS

This is another song which has been recorded many times but this is my fave.   The creeping, stalking intro breaks into a swinging big band arrangement with quavery vocals by Dick Robertson who describes someone who "waits for you upon the stairs".  The record is from around March 24, 1930 and features the sound effects and vocal noises which would become well-known a decade later in the records of Spike Jones & His City Slickers.  Something of a trend-setter, ol' Mose.  Don't forget to listen to the song over there in the box on the right.
